Israel has announced the reinstatement of a ceasefire following a series of renewed airstrikes across Gaza. Gaza authorities claim Israeli forces under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu violated the ceasefire at least 80 times over the past ten days.

Despite these repeated violations, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas remains in effect. However, fresh attacks have continued, leaving 44 Palestinians dead in a single day.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces carried out multiple strikes on Sunday. According to Gaza’s media office, nearly 100 Palestinians have been killed and over 200 injured since the ceasefire took effect on October 10. Among the dead are several members of Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades, including children.
After ten days of on-and-off fighting and repeated breaches, Israel officially announced the reactivation of the ceasefire. The Israeli Defense Forces admitted conducting operations in parts of Gaza even while the truce was active, claiming the attacks were in response to an assault in Rafah that killed two Israeli soldiers. Tel Aviv asserted that the strikes targeted those responsible.
Hamas, however, denied any involvement in the Rafah incident.
Amid ongoing accusations and counterclaims, President Trump confirmed that the ceasefire remains valid. He expressed hope that the U.S.-brokered agreement would hold peacefully.
U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s senior adviser Jared Kushner are expected to visit Israel to assess the situation. Analysts say both sides must be pressured to fully adhere to the ceasefire terms, including allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza.
