India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said Sindh might align with India in future, sparking sharp protest from Pakistan.

Speaking at an event, Singh said Hindus in Sindh never accepted separation from India. He noted Hindus across India regard the Indus River as sacred. He also said the region, viewed through its civilizational roots, has always remained linked to India.
Rajnath said “Today, the land of Sindh may not be a part of India, but civilisationally, Sindh will always be a part of India. And as far as land is concerned, borders can change. Who knows, tomorrow Sindh may return to India again.”
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry condemned Singh’s statement, calling it misleading and an attempt to distort history. In a Sunday release, Islamabad said the remark drew concern and warranted strong rejection.
