President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that the killing and execution of protesters in Iran appears to have ceased, marking a notable shift in tone as tensions continue to simmer in the region.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump claimed that alongside the halt in killings, plans for detentions and capital punishment against demonstrators have also been suspended. This statement follows an earlier post on Truth Social where the President encouraged Iranian activists to maintain their momentum.

“The killing of protesters has stopped,” Trump asserted during the briefing, adding that the Iranian regime has paused plans to execute those detained during recent unrest.

In a related development, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that the government in Tehran has no current plans to carry out death sentences against anti-government protesters.

The President also touched on Iranian opposition figure Reza Pahlavi during his remarks. While describing Pahlavi as a “wonderful man,” Trump expressed skepticism regarding Pahlavi’s ability to garner the necessary public support to assume power in the country.
